Privacy Policy

Short version: Single-player modes are fully offline — no data leaves your device. Multiplayer uses a server for room sync only, and no personal account is required. The app shows ads via Google AdMob.

Single-player modes

Question Challenge, Time Attack, and Millionaire Mode are entirely offline. All questions are bundled with the app — nothing is downloaded or uploaded during gameplay. No data from single-player sessions is sent to any server.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer duels require an internet connection and use a server (hosted on Supabase) to sync game state between players in real time. The following information is sent to our server during a multiplayer session:

Display name — the name you enter before joining a room (not linked to an account).
Answers and scores — which options you selected and your resulting score, used to determine results.
Room code — the 6-character code used to match players in the same session.

This data is used solely to run the multiplayer session and is not stored beyond the duration of the game. No account, email address, or persistent identifier is required or collected.

Advertising

Factto displays ads provided by Google AdMob (banner and interstitial formats). AdMob may collect and use data to serve personalised ads, including:

Device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android)
IP address and approximate location
Device type and OS version
App usage interactions

You can limit ad personalisation through your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising; Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads).

Local data storage

The following data is stored locally on your device only and never shared:

Player name — used to identify you in multiplayer sessions.
High scores — your best results per game mode and duration.
Game settings — selected categories, question count, and timer preferences.
Question history — which questions you've seen, to avoid repeats until all are exhausted.

This data is stored using AsyncStorage on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

Permissions

Factto requests no device permissions beyond standard internet access (required for multiplayer and ad serving). The app does not access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, or any other sensitive feature.

Children's privacy

Factto is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. AdMob has its own COPPA compliance measures for ad serving.

Changes to this policy

If we change how data is handled we will update this page and the date above.
